Between Conakry,
Dakar, and Stockholm.

Max Diallo Jakobsen is a Swedish-Guinean writer, historian, curator, and researcher. Born in Sweden and of Guinean descent, he works between Conakry, Dakar, and Stockholm.

He holds an A.B. in History, African Studies, and Visual Arts from Princeton University, and is an MA student in Global African Studies at The Africa Institute, where he specializes in Museum and Critical Heritage Studies.

His research moves across African art and visual culture, literature, archives, material culture, textiles, photographs, and built environment — tracing postcolonial Africa, the Black Atlantic, and the wider Global South as overlapping fields of cultural production.

To work with material is to work with memory — and to insist that the histories carried in textile, image, and archive belong to the living, not only to the past.
